Well, tomorrow is a big day around here. We wanted you, our incredibly loyal fans and friends, to hear this first, and maybe get a little head start. Who Will You Believe, the first Pernice Brothers record since 2019, is now available for pre-order on LP, CD and Digital. The record will be out on April 5, 2024, and you will receive it then. But before that…
The first single from the album is the title track, and it will be available on all the streaming services on January 16, 2024 at 12:01 a.m. You can also read the backstory about this song on Joe’s Four Track Substack.
As for the pre-order, there are many places where you can do this bit of business, but there are two where you’ll get a little extra something something for your trouble. If you pre-order from Bandcamp, you will receive an instant download of the album’s second single, “December in Her Eyes.” This will not be available on streaming services or anywhere else until the full record comes out.
In addition to all of the above, Bandcamp has a limited number of Who Will You Believe on cassette.
At Bandcamp, New West and many indie record stores, you will be able to choose between black and clear vinyl.
Our friends at Rough Trade have a special edition of the record available for pre-order. They have a limited turquoise blue vinyl edition that comes with a flexi disc 7” of a demo called “What We Had.” They are the only ones who have that, and it’s vey limited.
While supplies last, some physical media will arrive autographed! You can see the options on the respective order pages.
Here’s the link that will take you to all of the places where you can order yours.
As you know if you’ve been following our exploits, we went on a blind date with New West Records, after they licensed Overcome By Happiness from our ex, Sub Pop. New West assembled an amazingly gorgeous 25th anniversary box set last year. One thing led to another, and they asked if they could release a new Pernice Brothers album, and here we are. We hope you like this record as much as we do. The band this time around includes Liam Jaeger, Michael McKenzie and Joshua Karp, as well as longtime collaborators Peyton Pinkerton, Patrick Berkery and actual brother Bob Pernice. And Neko Case makes an appearance, singing a duet with Joe. Produced by Joe Pernice.
Joe has a couple of shows coming up soon, and keep your eyes open for more announcements. The shows listed below are Joe Pernice solo shows.
Wednesday, February 7, 6 p.m., Five Spot, Nashville, TN, with special guest John Strohm (Tickets on sale now.)
Wednesday, April 3, 7 p.m., Le Poisson Rouge, New York, NY (Tickets on sale January 16, 12 noon EST, and link won’t be live until then.)
Warmly,
Your friends at Ashmont Records
